As one of your constituents, I would like to request a thirty minute meeting with you on a date convenient to you within the next 2-4 weeks.

The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss our national campaign which calls on all political leaders across the country to commit to ‘Stand Up For Solar’ and act in the interests of millions of Australians who want to see a bright, sun-powered future.

As you may be aware, Australian families are turning to rooftop solar power in droves. In 2007 there were only around 8,000 solar photovoltaic systems installed on homes around the country. Fast-forward to today, and there are more than 1.3 million Aussie homes powered by the sun.

For many local families, installing solar panels to lower household costs and produce clean energy just makes sense. In fact, nine out of 10 Australian families are now looking to solar as a way to take control of their power bills and manage the ever increasing cost of living. Unfortunately, many solar owners are not getting a fair go and there are barriers preventing some low-income households and renters who want to make the switch to solar.

When polled, the vast majority of Australians want to see more solar, not less. But big solar has faced significant setbacks due to uncertainty around the Renewable Energy Target, including a 90% drop in investment and the loss of over 2,300 Aussie jobs.

The Stand Up For Solar plan calls on all political representatives to commit to:

- A national goal of at least 50% renewable energy by 2030; 
- A fair go for solar owners, including a fair feed-in tariff, no discriminatory fees and a specialist solar ombudsman, and;
- A national program to help low-income households and renters with soaring power bills to go solar.

I would very much appreciate the chance to explain to you why I think this plan is so crucial for our local area and why I would like to see you take a leadership role by pledging to Stand Up For Solar.

In addition, the meeting will allow me to hear your views on this exciting new campaign so your position can be communicated to the many Solar Citizens that live in our electorate.

Your location data (residential address or postcode) it is used to locate your elected representative, to pre-populate your email signature and to provide The Campaigner with a visualisation of the location of the support for this campaign.
All other data you may enter, including your email address, name, telephone number, commentary and so on is used by The Campaigner to advocate for the campaign’s goals and where required may be sent to the target of the campaign.

The data collected by Do Gooder is also used by us in aggregate form to improve the service and may be held on your behalf outside your country of residence by our third party service providers. These providers are bound by contract to only use personal information on our behalf, in accordance with agreed terms. While the privacy laws of the country in which personal information is stored or transferred may be different from those in your country, we will always have safeguards in place when storing or transferring personal information. We will never sell, rent, loan or in any other way pass your information on to other parties other than to provide this service to you and The Campaigner.
